Adventurer’s toolkit

The tabs worth keeping open.

Four reliable OSRS resources, a clean RuneLite setup, and the plugins that solve real problems instead of filling your sidebar with junk.

RuneLite basics

What RuneLite actually does

RuneLite keeps the original game underneath and adds information around it: overlays, timers, markers, price displays, bank tools, screenshots, notifications, and other conveniences. It does not replace the OSRS account or create a separate character.

Some features are built in and only need to be enabled. Others come from the Plugin Hub, which contains third-party plugins installed from inside RuneLite.

How to add a plugin

Open configuration

Click the wrench icon in RuneLite’s sidebar.

Search built-ins first

Type the feature name. Built-in plugins can be enabled immediately without installing anything.

Open Plugin Hub

For community plugins, scroll to the bottom of the configuration list and select Plugin Hub.

Install and configure

Search the exact name, install it, then return to configuration and open its settings.

Browse the Plugin Hub
Install safely. Use RuneLite from its official website and add community plugins through RuneLite’s own Plugin Hub. Do not download random plugin files, modified clients, or “private” plugins sent through Discord messages.
Mightyon’s first loadout

Install by purpose, not by hype

Start with the first group, then add the rest when the problem they solve actually appears.

Start here

Questing, travel, and repeatable setups

The biggest immediate improvement for a new or returning player.

Quest Helper

Plugin Hub

Guides quests step by step, marks relevant NPCs and objects, lists required items, and helps prevent the classic “walk across Gielinor twice because you forgot a bucket” problem.

Shortest Path

Plugin Hub

Right-click a destination on the world map to draw a route. Especially useful before your teleport network and map knowledge are fully built.

Optimal Quest Guide

Plugin Hub

Puts the Wiki’s efficient quest order in RuneLite so quest rewards can reduce unnecessary early training. Treat it as a route, not a law.

Inventory Setups

Plugin Hub

Saves gear and inventory templates for bosses, Slayer tasks, skilling, clue steps, or anything else you do more than once.

Shooting Stars Tracking

Plugin Hub

Tracks discovered stars, their locations, and estimated timing so star hunting does not become a telescope-and-world-hop scavenger hunt.

Bank and progression

Know what you own and what it can become

Useful once your bank stops fitting neatly on one screen.

Banked Experience

Plugin Hub

Estimates how much skill experience is sitting in your bank as logs, ores, herbs, bones, food, and other training supplies.

Bank XP Value

Plugin Hub

Another banked-XP viewer with item XP tooltips. It overlaps with Banked Experience, so try both and keep the one whose layout you prefer.

Wasted Bank Space

Plugin Hub

Shows items that may be recoverable elsewhere or otherwise taking unnecessary slots. Review recommendations before removing anything valuable or sentimental.

Keyboard Bankpin

Built in

A setting inside RuneLite’s Bank plugin that lets you enter your bank PIN with the keyboard instead of clicking the shuffled keypad.

Decimal Prices

Plugin Hub

Makes abbreviated prices easier to read by showing clearer decimal values instead of forcing you to mentally decode every large stack.

Movement and presentation

See the game more clearly

Helpful, but there is no prize for enabling every visual effect at once.

True Tile

Built in

In Tile Indicators, enable your true location to show the tile the server currently considers your character to occupy. This matters for precise movement and PvM.

Menu Entry Swapper

Built in

Changes default and Shift-click actions for many items, NPCs, and objects. It removes repetitive right-clicking, but configure swaps deliberately so muscle memory does not betray you.

117 HD

Plugin Hub

Adds a GPU renderer with upgraded lighting, shadows, textures, atmosphere, and draw-distance options. Optional—and more demanding on weaker computers.

Camera Smoothing

Plugin Hub

Smooths camera rotation and zooming for players who prefer less abrupt movement. Pure comfort; disable it if the classic camera feels better.

A sensible first ten minutes

Do not install all fourteen blindly.

Begin with Quest Helper, Shortest Path, Inventory Setups, Menu Entry Swapper, True Tile, and Keyboard Bankpin. Add the bank, star, price, and visual plugins as your account gives you a reason to use them.
